| New Delhi, June 6, 2017: Exhibitions India Group, a leading organiser of international exhibitions and conferences, is proud to partner with the SunPedal Ride in an effort to promote awareness for sustainable solar energy in communities throughout the country. Founded by Sushil Reddy, an IIT Bombay alumnus from the Department of Energy and Science, the SunPedal Ride is a movement to create awareness about solar energy and clean transportation. In the summer of 2016, the 26-year-old embarked on a cycle journey of 7,500 km from IIT Bombay on his electric cycle, powered by solar energy, to spread awareness on the energy crisis facing the country, and the clean solutions solar energy provides. He along with a team of three members - Krunal Tailor, Rajendra Bhaskar and Himanshu Singh - covered nine states/union territories highlighting the importance of solar power in schools, colleges and universities while interacting with locals. “The aim of the movement is to exchange knowledge, motivate people via public interactions/presentations/debates, and make advances in renewable energy,” said Reddy, who set a Guinness World Record for the longest journey on a motorised bicycle. “We are delighted to be the platinum sponsor for the SunPedal Ride, and promote such initiatives for clean sources of energy,” said Prem Behl, Chairman, Exhibitions India Group.
